Just follow the yellow brick road in a Dorthy costume from “The Wizard of Oz”. The action in this beloved family movie from 1939 begins with Dorothy fantasizing of a better place "somewhere over the rainbow". Struck unconscious during a tornado, Dorothy dreams of meeting many unusual friends on the way to the land of Oz.  The Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man and the Scarecrow all join Dorothy on the way to Emerald City to find what they supposedly (but don’t actually)lack – courage, a heart, a brain and a way home.

Dorthy costumes are available in quite a few styles to please every age range, from toddler to plus size – even the pampered pooch.  The traditional look features a blue and white gingham dress with a white pinafore and red sequined shoes (or shoe covers). Flirtier versions of the Dorthy costume from the Wizard of Oz are available with short skirts and not-so-innocent necklines.  Either way, fix your brunette hair into two braids tied off with girlish ribbon or top off with a Dorthy costume wig.
