Instructions:
Step 1: To replicate the look of tin, you’ll need to create a base for your Tinman costume with grey pants and a grey long–sleeved shirt.
.
Step 2: Create the top to your Tinman costume by creating a pattern–free tunic from the gold lame fabric. First fold the fabric in half lengthwise; measure the width of your body and cut the fabric down to be about 6–inches wider. In the center of the top fold cut out a triangle shape to be the neckline. Glue or sew the sides from the bottom to the top leaving about 6–inches clear for arm holes.
Step 3: With the poster board, create cone–shaped hat that resembles a funnel and spray paint with metallic silver paint. Secure to your head with bobby pins or a string tie if needed.
Step 4: With the remainder of the poster board, make a belt and arm cuffs that are also painted silver. Also cut out a small heart shape that you color in red and pin to the tunic to indicate that you really do have a heart.
Step 5: Finish off your Tinman costume look with silver face paint rubbed over your face and use grease pens to make the distinctive marks around the jaw.
